ANAS Institute of History held event dedicated to the Youth Day on February 2.

At the event, Director of the Institute, academician Yagub Mahmudov spoke about the role of youth in society, care and attention in our country.

The scientist said: “The national leader Heydar Aliyev regarded the youth policy as one of the most important activities of the independent Azerbaijan state. Thanks to the care and attention by Heydar Aliyev young people of Azerbaijan studied in leading universities of the former Soviet Union to study in various specialties in 70s-80s”.

Chairman of ANAS Council of Young Scientists and Specialists Famin Salmanov spoke about the role of the youth of the Academy in the country's scientific and social-political life. He praised the activities of the youth of the Institute of History last year.

Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute of History Rashad Mustafa noted that, the institution implements the projects “Save the memory of our historical figures” and “Winter School of Young Historians” among schoolchildren: “The young scientists of the Institute participated in 12 international scientific conferences in 2018”.

It was noted that, the institute is actively involved in the information war against the occupation policy of aggressive Armenia.

Then, academician Yagub Mahmudov was awarded the “Friend of the Youth” history institute for his role and contribution to the formation and preparation of young scientists. Under the scientific leadership of the academician, the School of Historians was created out of 65 PhDs in history and Doctors of Sciences.

It should be noted that the award of the Institute of History "Friend of Youth" was established in 2018 and its 1st winner was President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh.

At the end of the event, the participants of the Winter School of Young Historians were awarded certificates.
