Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The scientific conference devoted to the 150th anniversary of a prominent representative of Azerbaijan literature, writer, playwright and public figure Jalil Mammadguluzadeh was held in Nakhchivan Division of ANAS.

The event was organized jointly by Nakhchivan Division, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Writers' Union, “Nakhchivan” University and Nakhchivan State University.

The chairman of the Division, academician Ismayil Hajiyev spoke of the events held in connection with President Ilham Aliyev’s decree “On holding 150th anniversary of Jalil Mammadguluzadeh", as well as the Decree of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov on the "Action Plan for Holding Jalil Mammadguluzade's 150th Anniversary in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic". The scientist evaluated the orders and decrees not only as not gratitude to Mirza Jalil, but also to whole to the literature of Azerbaijan.

Later, I.Hajiyev gave detailed information on the rich and multifaceted creative activity of the great writer and public figure, Nakhchivan literary atmosphere, the creator of the Molla Nasreddin satirical book and the creator of the same literary school, Jalil Mammadguluzadeh, who took a special place in the history of Azerbaijan literature.

The head of the Division added that the works of the outstanding writer were rewritten in Latin script, translated into a number of foreign languages, and significant work was done in the field of research and promotion of creativity.

Professor Ramiz Gasimov, Head of Literature Department of the Institute of Arts, Language and Literature of the Division, chairman of the Union of Writers of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, poet Asim Yadigar, Director of the Institute of Art, Language and Literature, Corresponding Member of ANAS Abulfaz Guliyev and others made reports about great literary figure.
