Cairo University, Egypt to establish Azerbaijani Studies Center

The delegation, led by director of ANAS Institute of History, academician Yagub Mahmudov and responsible officials of the Azerbaijan embassy to Egypt visited Cairo University in Egypt.

During the visit, held a meetings with Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Professor Ahmed Al-Shcherbi, head of the Department of Oriental Languages Jalal Al-Saeed Al-Hafnawi and other scholars.

Speaking about the history of the Azerbaijani-Egyptian relations, Y.Mahmudov stressed the importance of exploring common historical ties and cultural values for researchers from both countries.

Scientist noted the Armenian aggression against the independent Azerbaijan, the genocide against our people, especially the Khojaly genocide: “Despite four resolutions of the UN Security Council, Armenia continues to occupy Azerbaijani lands”.

Professor Ahmed Al-Shcherbi, in his turn, said that they would always support Azerbaijan's just cause. In addition, Jalal Al-Saeed Al-Hafnawi said more than a hundred students in the university were taught Azerbaijani as a foreign language.

Y.Mahmudov and Ahmed Al-Shcherbi agreed to establish an Azerbaijani Studies Center at Cairo University in the near future to spread the truth of Azerbaijan in Egypt.

At the end of the meeting, academician presentented to the university a number of publications in the Arabic language: "Iravan Khanate: Russian occupation and relocation of Armenians to Northern Azerbaijan", "Real history and "Great Armenia" Falsification of Armenia”, "Iravan Khanate: Iravan fortress - heroic fortress","Iravan Khanate: The Iravan mosques”, which destroyed by the Armenian vandals, "Iravan Khanate: Iravan Mosques Destroyed by Armenian Vandals", "Chukhursad Judges and Iravan Khanans" and "Khanate of Iravan: Khan's Palace destroyed by the Armenian vandals”.
