A conference on "Imadaddin Nasimi and Uzbek literature" held

A scientific conference on "Imadaddin Nasimi and Uzbek Literature" with the participation of scientists from Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan was held at the Baku International Press Center. The organizers were the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Uzbekistan, the newspaper Kaspi and the eponymous educational center.

Opening the event with and welcoming the Uzbek guests and participants of the conference, the founder of Kaspi, Doctor of Philological Sciences Sona Veliyeva stressed that, Imadaddin Nasimi is the pride of the Azerbaijani people and of the whole Turkic world. Sona Valiyeva spoke about the importance of President Ilham Aliyev's Decree on the proclamation of the 2019 Nasimi Year in Azerbaijan.

Director of the Institute of Linguistics after Nasimi, academician Naghisoylu Mohsun delivered paper on role of Nasimi in the development of the Azerbaijani literary language.

Stressing that, in the history of every nation has two main factors - language and religion, academician noted that, this contributes to the fact that the nation remains in history and is recognized by other nations. He is the 1st Azerbaijani poet to create a literary school in the Middle East with his lyric poems in his native language.

Uzbek scientist and translator Tahir Gahhar spoke on “Translation of Imadaddin Nasimi’s works into Uzbek”. He noted on Uzbek-Azerbaijani literary relations and the special role of Nasimi’s creativity.

Ph.D. in Philology, associate professor Saadat Shikhieva told on work by Uzbek Nasimi followers of the XV century, who worked on a wide geographical area of the time.

Head of the Azerbaijani-Uzbek literary projects and Director of the Center of Azerbaijani Culture after Heydar Aliyev in Uzbekistan Samir Abbasov noted that, the work by Imadaddin Nasimi plays an important role in the development of Azerbaijani-Uzbek literary ties.

Also, at the event were delivered papers  by Honored Worker of Science, corresponding member of ANAS Kamran Aliyev on "Imadaddin Nasimi and folklore", Director of the Institute of Folklore of ANAS, academician Mukhtar Imanov on "Human concept in the Nasimi's works", Uzbek historian Shukhrat Salamov on "Imadaddin Nasimi and Uzbek Literature".

At the end of the conference, Uzbek guests were awarded the Diplomas of the “Kaspi” newspaper and the Press Council.
