The 70th anniversary of the world-famous Japanese writer Haruki Murakami is celebrated at the Institute of Literature

The scientific conference devoted to the 70th anniversary of the world-famous Japanese writer Haruki Murakami was held at the Institute of Literature of ANAS.

An exhibition of writer's books was organized within the conference.

Opening the event, vice president of ANAS, director of the institute, academician Isa Habibbayli said that after the independence of our country, political and economic relations between Azerbaijan and Japan were established. He noted that Japan, one of the most developed countries in the world, is home to science and technology and the Institute of Literature is interested in establishing contacts with scientific research institutions in this country.

Referring to the creativity of Haruki Murakami, I.Habibbeyli said that the writer's works were translated into more than 50 languages.

He emphasized that the academic conference will contribute to the strengthening of scientific relations between the two countries.

Then, Keisuke Yamanaka, Japanese Adviser to the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Azerbaijan, said H. Murakami was one of the most important figures in contemporary Japanese literature. He noted that the writer's works differ from the 1400-year-old Japanese literature on its specific features and deep psychological moments in its novels.

Then, I.Habibbayli gave presents to K.Yamanaka.
