Employees of the Shaki Regional Scientific Center (SRSC) of the National Academy of Sciences will participate in the 9th international conference of The Black, Caspian Seas and Central Asia Silk Association (BACSA)) within the framework of the event "Invitation to protection and rehabilitation of Silk Road - Challenges and Prospects - SERIVIVAL 2019" held in Batumi on April 7-12.
The conference focused on the development of silkworm breeding in the Black Sea, Caspian Sea and Central Asia regions, where the representatives of the Georgian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Ajarian Autonomous Republic and members of BACSA attended the meeting.
The event was attended by SRSC Director, BACSA Coordinator for Azerbaijan, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics and mathematics, Associate Professor Yusif Shukurlu and Center Researcher Zarintaj Shukurova made presentation at the meeting.
It was noted that 90% of more than 40 countries in the world engaged in silk production are currently trying to maintain this production area. Therefore, the main theme of the conference is devoted to the cultivation of silkworm breeding, silkworm and silk production, silkworm and fodder pathology, breeding and bacteriology research. The conference featured a wide range of silk non-woven textile products, including perspectives and technologies for smart materials, reports on silk industry and trade development.
According to the agenda of the conference, the participants were excited to visit the famous Botanical Garden of Batumi and familiarize with rare tropical and subtropical plants in the garden.
