Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On May 7, Department of Physical, Mathematical and Technical Sciences of ANAS (DPMTS) held a Bureau meeting.

Academician-secretary of the department, academician Nazim Mammadov, bureau members, heads of scientific institutions included in the division and invited guests were invited to the meeting at the Physics Institute.

Academician N. Mammadov opened the meeting and familiarized the participants with the issues on the agenda.

Then, some scientific-organizational issues were considered. Thus, the publication of the second issue of "Mechanics" edition of the Physical-Technical and Mathematical Series of the journal "News" of ANAS was also approved, as well as the new editorial board and international members of the "Azerbaijan Astronomy Journal" were approved.

In addition, it was decided to send Sabina Mammadova to the Ondrejev Astronomical Institute of the Czech Republic and Gunay Hajiyeva to the Estonian Tartu Observatory.

The meeting  also discussed the appointment of the head of the newly established Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Oncology was examined at the Institute of Biophysics of ANAS together with the National Oncology Center of the Ministry of Health. Director of the Institute of Biophysics, correspondent member of ANAS Oktay Gasimov and employee of the National Center of Oncology Leyla Malikova were appointed as head of the laboratory of molecular and cellular oncology. Rajab Ismailli was also appointed as chairman of the Young Scientists and Specialists  Council of the SAO.

Later on, it was agreed to publish the book "Science Fellows - Eastern Astronomers and Philosophers of the Middle Ages" by Ph.D. in Physics, Associate Professor Mirnamik Bashirov.

In the end, candidates for the competition were approved for the title "Professor of ANAS".
