Visit of Azerbaijani scientists to Korea

The Azerbaijani delegation, led by Deputy Director of ANAS High Technologies Park, PhD in Law Mammad Baghirzada has taken part in the seminar on "Technology Transfer and Commercialization of Science in Azerbaijan", conducted by the South Korean Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI).

Representatives of the International Center for Innovative Cooperation of STEPI - head of the study group Yun Yo Kim, project coordinator So Yong Kwon, Professor of the Hoseo University Sang Hyuk Soo and Professor of the Hanbat University Yong Ying Cio discussed the current state of ecosystems of technology transfer in Azerbaijan and cooperation with organizations which work in this field and also delivered presentations on South Korean experience in the field of technology transfer and commercialization of science and respondent the questions of the participants.

Speaking at the seminar, Mammad Baghirzada said that, ANAS is the main organization that implements the state policy in the field of science. He said that today Azerbaijani scientists contribute to the country's economy with their innovative ideas and projects. According to him, the residents of the technopark produce military and civilian drones, bullet-proof vests, batteries, lubricating oils and other products. He also underlined that, in accordance with the legislation, tax and customs privileges are applied to residents of HT Park.

Further, Mammad Baghirzada said that, in the near future in the Republic of Azerbaijan the law "On venture funds and innovation activity" will be signed. Technology transfer and funding for start-up projects will find their quick solution in the framework this law.

It should be noted that, this project between the two countries is scheduled for the period 2019-2020. During this period, workshops will be organized regularly in both countries.

At the end of the workshop, the participants donated the certificates and gifts.
