Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

ANAS Division of Social Sciences bureau held a next meeting at the National Museum of Azerbaijan History on June 3

The event was attended by bureau staff, heads of relevant academic institutions, academic secretaries and staff.

Opening the meeting, Academician-Secretary of the Division, academician Nargiz Akhundova informed on agenda of the event.

Speaking about scientific and organizational issues, academician noted that, for the 1st time this year the department’s nominees will be represented at the contest “Professor of ANAS”. She said that the title is awarded to doctors of science aged up to 50 years old, who have special merits in the development of Azerbaijani science in the international arena, the integration of world science, as well as in personnel training.

Further, nominees for the title of “Professor of ANAS” - Doctor of Philosophy, Assistant Professor Roida Rzayeva, Doctor of Political Sciences, Associate Professor Ganira Pashayeva, Doctors of Economy Sciences - Amil Maharramov and Fuad Ganbarov delivered reports.

Then, it was decided to nominate candidates to the Presidium by secret ballot at the next General Meeting of the Division.

At the meeting, it was decided to hold elections for the position of directors of the National Museum of Azerbaijan History, Institutes of Oriental Studies and Philosophy. In addition, changes were made to the Academic Council of the Institute of History, courses were organized on the subject of Philosophy at the Institute of Philosophy.

At the same time, the results of the National Museum of Azerbaijan History contest were approved and it was decided to organize the 80th anniversary of corresponding member of ANAS Ali Nuriyev.
