International scientific conference on "Azerbaijan-Pakistan literary-cultural relations" was held jointly by the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS and the Muslim World Institute of Pakistan.
The event was opened by the vice-president of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbayli and said that the two countries have friendly, brotherly relations and close cooperation in political, economic, scientific, cultural, military and other spheres. He noted that Pakistan was one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan's independence, and has always supported the country's right struggle in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Director of the Muslim World Institute Sahibzade Sultan Ahmed Ali, in turn, highly appreciated the research conducted by Pakistani poet Mohammad Iqbal at the Institute of Literature and expressed gratitude for hospitality.
Later, an agreement on scientific cooperation was signed between the two bodies. In addition, the parties presented mutual gifts to each other.
The head of the Department of Literature Institute, Doctor of Philology, Professor Badirhan Ahmadov, PhD on Philology, associate professor Basira Azizaliyeva , deputy director of the Institute of Philosophy, PhD on philosophy Eynulla Madatli made reports at the conference.
