Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The general meeting of the Division of Social Sciences of ANAS was held at the Presidium of ANAS.

Reporting at the meeting, vice-president of ANAS academic Isa Habibbeyli brought to mind the issues of agenda. He stated that, elections will be held to run director posts at the Institute of Oriental Studies named after academic Ziya Bunyadov, Institute of Philosophy and National Museum of Azerbaijan History.

The vice-president of ANAS noted that the nominees for the post of director of scientific institutions of the division are nominated from among the scientists with great scientific achievements, scientific-organizational skills and experience by secret ballot in the scientific council of the institute. The voting results are then entered in the section.

At the general meeting, a computational commission has been set up to select directors for the division's scientific institutions. Academician Yagub Mahmudov was elected chairman of the computational commission.

As a result of the secret ballot, academician Govhar Bakhshaliyeva was elected director of the Institute of Oriental Studies, Professor Ilham Mammadzadeh - Institute of Philosophy and Naila Valikhanli - National Museum of Azerbaijan History.

17 of the division members from 24 were present in the voting.

It was decided to submit the results of the elections to the Presidium of ANAS.
