The Day of India was held at the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS.
The event was opened by the vice-president of ANAS, director of the Institute Isa Habibbayli and spoke about the development of relations between Azerbaijan and India. Most of the institutes of the ANAS have scientific relations with India, noted academician I. Habibbeyli and also said that the Institute staff together with Indian colleagues are working on a book dedicated to the great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi.
He praised the creation of the Turkish Language and Literature Department at the Indian State University named after Jawahirlal Nehru and shared his impressions of his visit to this country.
Then Sujesh Chandra Sinha, second secretary of the Indian Embassy for Education, highly appreciated the teaching of Hindi and said that he would provide materials to the famous writer Rabindranath Tagore in the future.
Further, the head of the Azerbaijan-Asian Literary Relations Department, Professor Badirhan Ahmadli said that the department has been successful in this direction since 2016. He noted that the Institute has written dissertations on Indian literature.
Finally, songs and poems in Hindi were sung.
