Baku held 6th International Symposium on Children and Youth Literature

6th International Symposium on Children and Youth Literature, organized by ANAS Institute of Literature, Turkish Union of Writers of Children and Youth Literature and other organizations on October 18.

This year's symposium is dedicated to children's music, children's songs, stylings and compositional children's poems.

Opening the event, vice president of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Literature after Nizami Isa Habibbayli noted that, the symposium was of great interest to the symposium. Looking at the history and stages of development of children's literature in Azerbaijan, academician said that, there is a rich tradition of children's literature in our country.

He noted that samples of Azerbaijani children's literature, created both in the early 20th century and in the Soviet period are rare pearls of the world children's treasury.

Isa Habibbayli also spoke about the goals and problems of children's literature during the independence period, noting that important work has been done at the Institute of Literature for the study of the relevant field.

Stressing the importance of children's literature and the need for discussion, he said that the academic symposium would be a good platform for scientists, writers and publishers to express their views and find solutions to problems.

Chairman of the Board of Writers of Children and Youth Literature Bican Veysel Yildiz spoke about the benefits of this symposium in Azerbaijan.

Within the event, Central Scientific Library organized an exhibition of children's drawings and children's literature of the. The symposium continued at the section meetings.

Note that, the International Child and Youth Literature Symposium is organized by the Union of Writers of Children and Youth Literature in October each year.
