On November 1, National Museum of Azerbaijan History of ANAS held a meeting with Alban Claude, a great-great grandchild of Sadig, the second son of a prominent philanthropist Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev, who is a historian and living in France currently. The meeting was attended by members of the museum, relatives of Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev in Baku and public figures.
Welcoming the guests, director of the museum, acad. Naila Valikhanli gave detailed information about the history of the museum establishment. She said that this cultural center, the first state museum, started its work in the palace of great philanthropist and prominent public figure Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev and received his first visitors in May 1921.
"It is a great honor for us to see the followers of the well-known millionaire H.Z. Taghiyev in the residence where he lived," said N. Valikhanli. She noted that the museum has collected photographs, historical documents and valuable items about the life and activities of the great philanthropist. According to her, the study of Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev's activities is a study of the history of Azerbaijan. Because much of Azerbaijan's history is connected with the activities of this famous mesenat.
Expressing his pleasure to visit his grandfather's home, Alban Claude thanked the museum management for the meeting. He spoke about the difficult life of her grandmother Zarrintaj khanum in Paris. Zerrintaj Taghiyeva went to France after being deported from Baku and lived there for the rest of her life.
Claude said that he visited our country for the first time and said that on his next visit he would present the documents of H.Z. Taghiyev’s offspring to the museum.
Later, Haji Zeynalabdin Tagiyev's other relatives expressed their pleasure to recognize Alban Claude.
Finally, N. Valikhanli donated books, albums and catalogs devoted to the life and philanthropist activity og H.Z. Tagiyev to the guest.
