“The investigation of quality of life and longevity in areas with higher natural radiation-sensitive areas in Azerbaijan" project by joint participartion of scientists from Institutes of Geology and Geophysics (IGG) and Physiology of ANAS was implemented.

The project was carried out within the grant aired by the Ukrainian Center for Science and Technology (UCST). The goal of the project, led by department chief, corresponding member of ANAS Chingiz Aliyev, was to investigate the quality of life and longevity of the population living in areas with high radiation-sensitive areas in the Talish region. Relevant works were done in Talish region in accordance with the project requirements.

In addition, an analysis of the relation between the population's lung cancer and radon distribution, radiometric, biomedical, and medical - sociological studies were carried out.
