As part of the scientific cooperation signed by ANAS Institute of Botany and the Sheki Regional Scientific Center dated November 1-10, 2019 were carried out phenological research in Shaki.

The goal is to study and ensure the sustainable use of plant biodiversity in the region, including the assessment of plant resources using the results.

As a result of the initial monitoring conducted by employees of the Institute of Botany a list of autumn flora was compiled in Bash Shabalid village and in Markhal territory, Sheki and phenological observations were carried out in forest areas, were identified 4 unique plant species and the demographic structure and status of their populations were studied.

In addition, the spreading of some invasive species in forests has been registered.

Information on populations of rare plants will be included into new edition of the Red Book of Azerbaijan.
