At an expanded meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of History of ANAS, Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs, Advisor to the Emir of Kuwait for Humanitarian Affairs, Chairman of the International Islamic Charitable Organization Abdullah Matug al-Matug was awarded a diploma of an honorary doctor of the Institute of History.
Outstanding public figure Abdullah Matug al-Matug was awarded this honor for his great contribution to the development of Azerbaijani-Kuwaiti friendly relations and the protection of the realities of Azerbaijan in the international arena.
Director of the Institute of History, academician Yagub Mahmudov, emphasized that Islamic countries play an important role in the foreign policy of Azerbaijan: “Azerbaijan and Kuwait are friendly and fraternal countries. The other day in Kuwait, we presented the Institute’s publications in Arabic. "Yagub Mahmudov, speaking about the realities of Azerbaijan, said that the territory of the modern Republic of Armenia is the historical land of Azerbaijan, and the Armenian state in the Caucasus was first formed in 1918. Armenian vandals destroyed over 300 mosques on the lands of the Irevan khanate, including the city of Irevan. “ Currently, Armenian vandalism continues in the occupied Karabakh land. Mosques and our other historical monuments were destroyed there, and in some mosques they contain pigs,” said Yagub Mahmudov.
At the event, it was stated that the publications of the scientific institution were published in Turkish, English, Russian, Arabic, German, French, Italian and other languages: “The historical science of Azerbaijan, with fundamental works on the history of the Irevan Khanate, Karabakh and Nakhchivan, dealt a crushing blow to Armenian falsifiers. For all these successes, President Ilham Aliyev awarded 13 employees of the Institute with the State Prize of Azerbaijan.
Abdullah Matug al-Matug, in turn, said that he, within the framework of his authority, declares the realities of Azerbaijan and defends them: “I met with President Ilham Aliyev several times. He is one of the great statesmen of our time and I am very pleased with the rapid development of Azerbaijan. ”
Azerbaijani historians expressed gratitude to Abdullah Matug al-Matug for his diligence in protecting the realities of Azerbaijan in the international arena.
The event was attended by the Chargé d'affaires ai of Kuwait in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Faisal Jazz Almutairi.
