Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On November 22, general meeting of the Division of Humanitarian Sciences of ANAS was held. In advance, an exhibition, consisting of books and journals, reflecting the achievements of the research institutions attached to the division was presented.

Vice-president of ANAS academician Isa Habibbayli, academician-secretary of the division, academician Teymur Karimli, members of the bureau, heads and scientific secretaries of relevant scientific institutions, etc. took part in the General Meeting.

Opening the event, academician Isa Habibbayli said that during the reporting year DHS carried out a number of important events in accordance with the orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, books and monographs were published, and research works devoted to pressing problems were defended.

Initially, lectures were listened reflecting the results of research work carried out in scientific institutions of the Division of Humanitarian Sciences in 2019. The lectures reflected important scientific results obtained at the institutes of the division for the current year, activities carried out as part of the orders of the state head and state programs, including work carried out in accordance with the Decree of the President of  the Republic of Azerbaijan on the announcement of 2019 in Azerbaijan Republic “Year of Nasimi” and information about books published in the framework of “Imadaddin Nasimi-650”. Meanwhile, it was noted in the lectures that, this year various activities were carried out in accordance with the orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On the 120th anniversary of Jafar Jabbarly”, “On the 110th anniversary of Academician Mammadagha Shiraliyev”, “On the 110-anniversary of academician Mammad Jafar Jafarov”, “On the 110th anniversary of academician Hamid Arasli ”and“ On the 150th anniversary of Jalil Mammadguluzadeh”.

The event addressed issues of approving the program and test bank for conducting minimum exams for admission to doctoral studies, as well as for candidates for specialties in “Theory of Literature, Literary Analysis and Criticism” at the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi and “Historiography, Source Studies and methods of historical research” at the Institute of Manuscripts named after Muhammad Fizuli.

Then, staff problems were issued.
