On December 3, XXIII republican scientific conference of doctoral students and young researchers kicked off at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AUAC) with the organization of the Ministry of Education.

Opening the event, rector of the university Professor Gulchohra Mammadova noted the importance of the conference in terms of boost the scientific creativity of doctoral students and young researchers and revealing their scientific capacity.

Speaking about the invaluable merits of the national leader Heydar Aliyev in the development of science and education in Azerbaijan, rector said that this policy has been successfully continued by the country's President Ilham Aliyev. She emphasized that this area has always been focused on and young people who play an important role in the future of the country are supported in obtaining higher education.

G. Mammadova noted that the government’s policy to transform natural resources into human capital gave an impetus to the adaptation and development of all levels of the education system and laid the foundation for the formation of a new intellectual layer.

Speaking at the event, Education Minister Jeyhun Bayramov recalled that the conference was dedicated to the 650th anniversary of the Azerbaijani poet Imadaddin Nasimi, whose poetry played an important role in enriching Azerbaijani literature.

Jeyhun Bayramov spoke about measures to train a new generation of staff in the country, modernize the content and quality indicators of the higher education system with the help of international double diploma programs and create a new academic environment within the framework of the “State program to increase the competitiveness of the higher education system in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023 ". The Minister of Education informed the conference about the statistics on the training of scientific and pedagogical personnel.

Jeyhun Bayramov stressed that countries are currently developing new initiatives to implement innovative scientific strategies that are adequate to global challenges, to protect against risks associated with the depletion of natural resources, climate change and environmental degradation.

At the end of his speech, Minister said that the conference, which has acquired the status of a stable platform for presenting scientific results and conducting scientific discussions, will make a significant contribution to the training of new generation scientists, and wished the event success.

Then, academician-secretary corresponding member of ANAS Aminagha Sadigov spoke about the successful cooperation between Ministry of Education and Academy in recent years. He noted that such conferences are an important platform for bringing together young scientists and researchers.

Rector of Baku State University Elchin Babayev said that doctoral students and young researchers from the university he leads will also participate in the conference, which consists of 15 sections. They are the authors of 103 lectures included in the conference program.

At the conference, which will last two days, lectures of 500 doctoral students and young researchers will be listened.
