Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov has hosted the traditional international scientific conference "Russian, Russia: middle ages and new era. IV readings devoted to memory of academician of RAS L.V.Milov”.

Zemfira Hajiyeva, Doctor of historical sciences head of the Scientific Heritage Center of the Presidium of ANAS, and Tofig Mustafazadeh, Professor and chief department of the Institute of History named after A.A.Bakikhanov represented our country at the event with participations of 175 historians, philosophers, philologists, economists and political scientists from Russia, Belarus, Germany, France, Poland, Kazakhstan and other countries.

During the event, Z. Hajiyeva delivered a lecture on "A Brief Summary of the History of Trade-Economic and Diplomatic Relations of Azerbaijan and Russia in the Middle Ages" and T. Mustafazadeh on "Russian and Azerbaijani Khanates (based on the materials of foreign policy of the Russian Empire) in the third quarter of the XVIII century".

Relying on numerous archival materials and sources (East, Europe, Turkey, Iran, Russia, etc.) Z. Hajiyeva’s lecture presents scientific confirmation of the Azerbaijan-Russian trade-economic and diplomatic relations of the 7th-17th centuries. She stressed out exceptional role of merchants in the development of trade and diplomatic relations between the two countries. In addition, she underlined misrepresentation and falsification of the names of merchants and Azerbaijani cities in the documents of the VII-XVII centuries, criticizing the presentation of Azerbaijani merchants and diplomats as Persian.

Z. Hajiyeva's lecture aroused interest and questions were responded.

Note that, conference proceedings were published as a book form and covers articles by Azerbaijani scientists.
