Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Nakhchivan Division of ANAS held a memorial event of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Chairman of the Division, academician Ismayil Hajiyev spoke about the outstanding services of national leader Heydar Aliyev to our people. He said that 16 years have passed since the death of national leader Heydar Aliyev. The brilliant face of Heydar Aliyev has turned him into a national leader of the Azerbaijani people, one of the great giants of world politics.

He stressed that the development of both Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is an outcome of Heydar Aliyev's policy. The eternal ideas of the great leader are being continued today by President Ilham Aliyev and Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov. The measures carried out in the country reinforces our independence, statehood and increases the authority of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the global arena.

Then, head department of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology, corresponding member of ANAS Fakhraddin Safarli delivered a lecture on "Heydar Aliyev - eternal leader".

Later on, director of the Institute of Art, Language and Literature, corresponding member of ANAS Abulfaz Guliyev and director of the Manuscripts Fund, Doctor of Philological sciences Farman Khalilov highlighted the importance of the historical orders and decrees signed by national leader for preservation of national spiritual values as well as attention and care shown to the development of science and culture.
