Nakhchivan Division hosted an event dedicated to the December 31 - World Azerbaijanis’ Solidarity Day and the New Year.

During the event, chairman of the Division academician Ismayil Hajiyev glanced at the establishment history of holiday, which is one of the most important days of our independence history and became a symbol of the spiritual unity of Azerbaijanis.

Hajiyev said that the World Azerbaijanis’ Solidarity Day was first announced on December 16, 1991, at the initiative of the national leader Heydar Aliyev at the initiative of the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. This is the decision of the world Azerbaijanis to unite around the idea of a single state.

The head department emphasized that the ideas of the great leader on ensuring the solidarity and unity of the world Azerbaijanis continue to be relevant today.

Later, head department of Archeology service of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology, PhD, Associate Professor Zeynab Guliyeva delivered a lecture on “30 years of development of our national solidarity".
