Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

"World War I and Azerbaijan” international scientific conference was held at the main building of the ANAS, organized by the Institute of History.

Outstanding scientists from Turkey, Russia, Georgia, France, and other countries of the Central Asian countries participated at the conference.

Opening the conference, honored scientist, director of the Institute of History, corresponding member of ANAS Yaqub Mammadov, stressed the importance of the conference. He noted the importance of the conference for introducing the world about the truth about the Azerbaijan’s history.

The scientist talked about Azerbaijan’s Place during World War I, creation of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic as a result of war. The conference plenary sessions continued in 3 sections.

Dr of history Irada Bagirova, chairman of Ataturk Research Center, Professor Mehmet Ali Beyhan and others made speeches at the plenary session.

“Great Armenian” crime against Azerbaijani people during World War I”, “Events of March 1918 and the restoration of Soviet power in Baku”, “Genocide of Azerbaijanis in Baku province during World War I”, " World War I and Armenians atrocities against Turkic people” and etc. reports were listened on sections.

It should be noted that the conference continued till June 21.
