Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

An article by the chairman of the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS academician Ismayil Hajiyev, "Autonomy of Nakhchivan" was published in the next issue of the international journal "IRS-Heritage" in English.

The article discusses the establishment of Soviet power in Azerbaijan in the 20s of the 20th century, the place and role of Nakhchivan in the formation of a new structure, the arrival of the XI Red Army in Nakhchivan and the creation of the Nakhchivan Soviet Socialist Republic.

The study also reflects the diplomatic activities of Behbud Agha Shakhtakhtinsky, who took decisive measures for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and played a large role in the history and fate of Nakhchivan, as well as in the process of acquiring the Nakhchivan autonomy.
