Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The scientific conference dedicated to the great Azerbaijani scientist and thinker Muhammad Nasiraddin Tusi has been held in the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS, organized by the Batabat Astrophysical Observatory of the division.

Opening the event, chairman of the division, academician Ismail Hajiyev spoke about the contributions of a scientist with an encyclopedic background to the development of various fields of science. He said that Nasiraddin Tusi was interested in various fields of science and wrote works on astronomy, mathematics, physics, medicine, philosophy, ethics, logic and other fields. His research objects were astronomy and mathematics.

Nasiraddin Tusi gained a special interest in ethics in the Oriental world with his work "Akhlagi-Nasiri". This work is included in the list of books worth to be read by the order signed by the Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan, Vasif Talibov, was noted.

Lectures on following topics such as, “Scientific devices of Maragha Observatory”, “Akhlagi-Nasiri” work”, “Nasraddin Tusi’s Scientific Heritage”, “Nasraddin Tusi and Mathematics” etc. were listened at the conference.
