Manuscript Fund of the Nakhchivan Division received new manuscripts and printed books

Ministry of Culture of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has donated 24 new manuscripts and printed books to the Manuscript Fund of the Nakhchivan Division.

During the event, chairman of the Division academician Ismayil Hajiyev spoke about the invaluable role of ancient manuscripts and printed books, reflecting the real memory of our history. He said that ancient manuscripts preserve the history, cultural life and history of the people to which they belong. They are valuable to future generations.

Highly appreciating the donation of books acquired by the Ministry of Culture to the Manuscript Fund, Ismayil Hajiyev emphasized the role of Honored Art Worker Akif Hajiyev, together with residents of the Autonomous Republic, in preserving and promoting our national and spiritual values.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Culture of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Natavan Gadimova, said that written monuments are valuable sources not only for studying the socio-political situation, scientific and cultural environment of the Middle East, but also for our people. A rich and comprehensive book treasury is important not only for Azerbaijan, but also for the study of human civilization and world history as a whole.

Further, director of the Manuscript Fund Doctor of Philology Farman Khalilov informed the participants about the manuscript and printed books in Azerbaijani, Arabic and Persian languages - “Azerbaijan Literature: Ashig Abdullah”, “Azerbaijan Literature. Folk poets ”(Volume II) by Salman Mumtaz, “Turkic Literature” by Abdullah Shaig, textbook “Geography” by Gafur Rashad, “Textbook of Persian Language” by an unknown author, “Historical Materials of Azerbaijani Literature” by Firidun Kocharli etc.
