The Aran Regional Branch of the museum commemorates the victims of the Khojaly genocide

On February 24, an event dedicated to the 28th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was held in the Aran Regional Branch of the National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature named after N. Ganjavi together with the secondary school of the village of Atakishili.

The event, which began with a moment of silence in the memory of the victims of Khojaly, was opened by the head of the Aran Regional Branch of the museum, PhD in Philology Yagut Bahadurgizi. After giving detailed information about the historical roots of this tragedy against our people, she spoke about the killing, wounds and capture of thousands of civilians in Khojaly with the help of the 366th motocross regiment of Armenian military units. It was noted that a political assessment of this genocide was given after the return of the national leader Heydar Aliyev to power for the second time.

Later, the director of the Atakishili village high school in the Kurdamir region Ayten Akbarova urged students to always remember the Khojaly genocide, which is the bloody memory of our people, as well as the bloody crimes committed in our occupied lands. The school principal noted that conducting educational events on the tragedies of our people is of great importance in educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism.

A video showing the horrors of the Khojaly genocide was presented at the ceremony.
