Discussions held on the latest advances in physics and materials science

A seminar dubbed “Topological Isolators: Recent Advances in Physics and Materials Science” was held at the Institute of Physics of ANAS with the participation of Evgeny Chulkov, professor of the International Physics Center of Donastia of Spain and Basque University, Vladimir Zverev, leading researcher at the Russian Institute of Solid State Physics, and deputy director of the Institute of Catalysis and inorganic chemistry, corresponding member of ANAS Muhammad Babanli.

The director of the institute, academician Nazim Mammadov, noted that the purpose of the event was to present the work of scientists of the Institute of Physics on the discovery of topological insulators, their significance and the recently opened antiferromagnetic topological insulator.

The scientist noted that recently the results of research on antiferromagnetic topological insulators were published in the authoritative journal Nature. N. Mammadov said that the insulator will be useful in the future from the point of view of energy transfer without loss. He said that the discovery of the antiferromagnetic topological insulator was made possible thanks to the international collaboration of leading research centers in Russia, Azerbaijan, Spain, Germany, Austria, Japan, Italy and the USA.

Next, a lecture by Evgeny Chulkov on this topic was heard.

Discussions on the report took place, questions were responded.
