Laboratory of Cereals, Legumes and Industrial plants of the Institute of Bioresources of the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS conducts research on various varieties of soft and durum wheat, barley, aromatic tobacco, clover and soy in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The main objective of the study is to study, evaluate and compare the effectiveness of new varieties in relation to biotic and abiotic factors, as well as recommend effective varieties to farmers.
In the laboratory for the period 2019–2020 were studied 54 solid wheat hybrids, 41 soft wheat hybrids, 49 solid and soft wheat varieties, including breeding hybrids. The seeds of the studied hybrids and varieties of wheat were sown in the experimental site of the institute in accordance with the requirements of international descriptors. In all samples, normal germination was obtained.
Note that T. Aestivum L. is the most common soft grain in the Autonomous Republic, and Triticum durum Desf is a solid wheat species.
