Sevil Zulfugarova, director of the Central Scientific Library of ANAS (CSL), told about this in his interview. Talking about the activities of her lead institution during the pandemic period, she said that all libraries of the world provide their resources to readers online, distributing publications in pdf and e-pub formats.

The director of the library noted that, according to the relevant order of the President of ANAS, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev, Central Library brought its activities in line with the current situation, further expanded the use of electronic library technologies and remote services and created wide opportunities for users through its web page.

Saying that "Today the main purpose of the library is the study of the needs of readers and the satisfaction of these needs at the official level", S. Zulfugarova added that the Scientific Library is trying to find a new website; library, and also find information resources that they need. In the current conditions, we have an important task: to provide readers, regardless of time and space, in a 7/24 mode to be able to get all the necessary resources that are in the library.

Noting that the CSL is one of the libraries that owns the richest fund, the director said that the fund stores valuable publications that have seen the light of the beginning of the XVI century on today.

Scientific Library are stored research works, monographs, magazines, books, topics that cover various areas of science, and their popularization and propaganda is the most important task, she stated.

Speaking about the fact that the preparation of electronic versions of the book is very difficult and, at the same time, an important process, S. Zulfugarova said that it is possible to do it in two ways: Thus, this work is included in the electronic database of libraries. The second way is to scan the book on a high-speed and high-quality scanner and place it in an electronic database.

Central Scientific Library has established its activities in accordance with the requirements of the time, supports all the competent measures taken in the republic under the country’s leadership.

The director highlighted that in response to the order of the academician Ramiz Mehdiyev about the work of some organizations in a special mode of labor, the Scientific Library provides readers with services online.

S. Zulfugarova also recommended users to turn the reading into a habit: “Start with a small book. Gradually your interests are formed, and you will look for new books. I wish all endurance in these difficult days, patience and enthusiasm for reading.”
