Discussed the activities of the research departments of the Manuscript Institute during an extraordinary vacation

In accordance with the quarantine regime used to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Azerbaijan, Institute of Manuscripts named after Muhammed Fizuli of ANAS continues its activities on-line.

The next online meeting of the Academic Council was held on April 25, chaired by the Director of the Institute academician Teymur Karimli.

At the meeting academician T. Karimli informed about the issues on the agenda.

Then, the productive activities of the research departments of the Manuscript Institute during an extraordinary vacation were discussed.

The scientific secretary of the institute, PhD in Philology, associate professor Azizaga Najafov said that during this period two online meetings were held in the departments of the scientific institution, every 10 days the department heads prepared a report on the work done, and a short summary of the reports was published in the country's media. He said that over this period, employees of various departments prepared 7 books for publication and 4 books were published. 23 scientific articles have been prepared and submitted to various scientific journals.

Then, deputy director for science, Doctor of Philology Pasha Karimov, head Department for the Study of Arabic Manuscripts, Doctor of Philology, Professor Kamandar Sharifov, Leading Researcher at the Department of Translation of Manuscripts and Ancient Printed Books, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Akram Bagirov, head Department of Education, PhD in Philology, Karimulla Mammadzadeh and others informed about the work done.

The meeting also widely discussed scientific-theoretical and scientific-organizational work carried out by employees within the framework of the 70th anniversary of the Institute of Manuscripts and the “Year of Volunteers”.

Academician Teymur Karimli instructed the heads of departments to continue to improve electronic scientific activities during the period of social isolation. He emphasized the importance of regularly publishing scientific journals of the institute.
