April 27, an online meeting of the Institute of Literature after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS took place.

The meeting was opened by the first vice-president of ANAS, director of the institute academician Isa Habibbayli. He spoke about the measures taken under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in our country, and about the challenges ahead.

President Ilham Aliyev has done important work to protect the health and well-being of the Azerbaijani people, to save our people from this disaster with less loss. The preventive measures taken by the head of state in various directions against the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in our country have ensured the success of our country in this difficult test. According to the scientist, as a result of the presence of hospitals and objects of social isolation in Azerbaijan, as well as the necessary isolation measures, the coronavirus infection in our country is not widespread, noted academician I. Habibbayli.

He added that the holding of an urgent emergency summit of the Turkic Council on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, chairman of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states, was the first model step in this direction.

Academician Isa Habibbayli also reported on his activities during the special quarantine period. He said that he took part in the videoconference of the Union of Academies of Sciences of the Turkic World, initiated by the International Turkic Academy, and also spoke at the international online conference dedicated to the 1300th anniversary of the Tonyukuk monument, organized by the International Turkic Academy. The scientist expressed confidence that we will soon get out of this difficult and responsible situation and return to normal life.

During the pandemic, the research departments of the Institute of Literature continued to operate. According to him, the institute carried out its work in a coordinated manner using Internet resources, the website of the scientific institution www.literature.az promptly reflected the necessary scientific information, said the scientist.

Afterwards, Deputy Director for science, Doctor of philological sciences, associate professor Alizade Asgarli spoke about the state of preparation for the creative conference "Literary Process 2019", as well as the preparation of a book about Aziz Mirahmadov and a collection of articles about Muhammad Hadi. Deputy Director for Science PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Aygun Baghirli made speech on the work done to prepare a collective monograph “Representatives of the Sixties of Azerbaijan” and a book about the creativity of Molla Panah Vagif.

The scientific secretary of the institute, PhD in Philology Mehman Hasanli noted that two issues of the journal Comparative Literature have been prepared. Deputy Director Rashad Gasimov also informed about a number of activities carried out during the quarantine period.

Then the head Department of Education, PhD in Sociology Samir Sattarov spoke. He shared his views on the state of preparation for publication of a special issue of the World Literature magazine of the Center for Literary Translation and Literary Relations of the Writers’ Union of Azerbaijan together with the Institute of Literature of ANAS. Professor Imamverdi Hamidov, head Department of Azerbaijani literature of the Renaissance said that the collective monograph “Afzaladdin Khagani: Life and Creativity” is being prepared for publication, and the work on Amir Khosrov Dahlavi is nearing completion.
