Central Scientific Library of ANAS presents to readers in pdf format volumes I and II of the Nakhchivan Encyclopedia.

Note that Nakhchivan Encyclopedia was prepared by the organization of Nakhchivan Encyclopedia created under the Presidium of ANAS in accordance with the Order of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev "On the Action Plan of the State Commission on the 75th anniversary of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic" dated February 12, 1999 and published in 2002.

In accordance with the action plan established by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev “On the 80th anniversary of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic” of February 9, 2004, a decision was made to reissue the Nakhchivan Encyclopedia. Accordingly, under the leadership of the Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov, an improved and newly developed second edition of the Nakhchivan Encyclopedia was prepared. This additionally included about 200 new articles. This publication reflects changes in the administrative division of cities and regions of the autonomous republic, renaming of a number of territorial units, innovations in the field of socio-political, socio-economic and cultural development in recent years.

The second edition of the Nakhchivan Encyclopedia was prepared by a working group created in the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS. The book systematically examines the essence, history of socio-political, socio-economic and scientific-cultural life of the autonomous republic. In addition to comprehensive articles on the autonomous republic, there are articles on all administrative districts, physical and geographical objects, cities and villages, the geological structure, underground and above-ground natural resources of the region.

History articles, in accordance with encyclopedic principles, tell about archaeological cultures in the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in ancient times, ancient and medieval periods, historical provinces, important fateful events, wars and agreements that complete them.
