For the first time in Azerbaijan held “Baku Science Festival”

The opening ceremony of festival, organized by ANAS was held at “Academic campuses” of the main building of ANAS. The festival organized by supporting of Baku City Executive Power, Ministry of Education and AR Ministry of Communications and High Technologies and sponsors are Azerbaijan State Oil Company and “Azercell”. President of ANAS, academician Akif Alizadeh opened the action and noted that organized for the first time “Baku Science Festival” is of great importance for Azerbaijan science, and also plays large role in promotion of scientific achievements. He also noted that the festival which is planned to be held annually, all scientific organizations and ANAS institutions participate at the high level. At the same time, the head of ANAS told about the development of science and about objectives, and also the highly appreciated process of preparation for a festival and wished good luck to participants of the festival. Then Minister of Communications and High Technologies, academician Ali Abbasov, Deputy Education Minister Firudin Gurbanov, rector of Baku State University Abel Maharramov, rector of Baku Higher Oil School Elmar Qasimov and academician Asif Hajiyev shared opinions on a festival. After performances has started the art part of action. The guests got acquainted with the exhibition, organized at the new building of Central Scientific Library. Results of research works of young scientists, multimedia installations, scientific shows, and also competitions of robots attracted a great interest. In the first day of Baku Science Festival were organized the eight scientific excursions to Azerbaijan National Museum of History, Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography, etc., and also to the Central Scientific Library, Institute of Geology and Geophysics, physics, literature and to the other ANAS institutions, Azerbaijan State Oil Academy to Baku State, medical, etc. universities . At the same time, it was possible to track the program of the festival at high schools №.6, №.23 and №.132-134. To the program of the second day of festival is included the exhibition, reflecting discoveries of scientists of the country, demonstration of entertaining scientific shows, and also carrying out interesting lectures.
