Distance Training Center of the Institute of Information Technology opened in Ganja Branch of ANAS

The Institute of Information Technology of ANAS held the opening ceremony of Distance Training Center of the institute in Ganja Branch of ANAS. The opening ceremony of Distance Training Center of Training and Innovation Center (TIC) of the institute was held via videoconference. First, Director of the institute, academician-secretary of ANAS, acad. Rasim Alguliyev conveyed the greetings of the president of ANAS, acad. Akif Alizadeh to the participants. He provided information about the large-scale reforms, and about the significance of adopted state programs in the field of information society formation, and the application of ICT in other areas.

R.Alguliyev told about the work carried out in the direction of building the information society in our country, the widespread introduction of ICT in all spheres of activity, as well as a state program. He also stressed that the “National Strategy for Information Society Development in Azerbaijan Republic for 2014-2020” approved by the Decree of the President Ilham Aliyev on April 2, 2014. One of the basic principles of the National Strategy is “Innovation - taking into account the innovations of technological progress and a focus on implementation of modern scientific research”, he noted.

It was noted that ANAS as an organization that is an integral part of Azerbaijani science, attaches great importance to the development of science in all regions of the country, including in Ganja. After describing the large-scale reforms in ANAS, scientist recalled visiting session of the Presidium of ANAS, conducted in February this year in the city of Ganja, and noted that there were discussed important issues in the field of science: “One of the conclusions of the session was to create solutions network infrastructure for the widespread introduction of information technology in scientific and educational institutions of Ganja, bringing the quality of science and education to meet international standards and providing the output works in Ganja scientists and young researchers in international scientific databases. Execution of this decree has already been completed: have been laid fiber optic cables, infrastructure network of Ganja branch of ANAS founded.” As a continuation of the activities in that direction Center for Distance Education of the Institute of Information Technologies of ANAS was established here. I congratulate you on the successful completion of these works”.

Stressing the importance of building in Ganja Center for Distance Education, Rasim Alguliyev said that this center will become a scientific and educational bridge between Baku and Ganja, will create opportunities for doctoral candidates and candidates of remote education, conduct online seminars and conferences, the establishment of international cooperation.

Then, academician-secretary of the Ganja branch of ANAS Fuad Aliyev expressed his gratitude to the leadership of ANAS for assisting in the opening of the Centre for Distance Education. Notifying that Ganja research activities are about 120 young scientists and specialists, F. Aliyev said that the lessons that to be organized at the Centre for Distance Education of Ganja, doctoral students will attend 4 universities and 6 research institutes.
