Regular meeting of Scientific Council of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of ANAS was held on December 5. Opening the meeting president of ANAS director of the institute acad. Akif Alizadeh provided information about the issues on the agenda. In advance, he spoke about execution of “Action Plan” for fulfillments to be carried out in 2007-2014 on study the hydrocarbon capacity and geodynamics of Azerbaijan part of the South Caspian basin”. According to the academician program attached great importance in terms of development of oil science, and minimizing the seismic risks in exploration of hydrocarbon deposits.
Then, chief of Tektonophysics and Geomechanics department acad. Hatam Guliyev told about the results of the held researches.
Meeting continued with the discussion of final reports for scientific-organizing works which carried out in 2014. Corresponding member of ANAS Talat Kangarli delivered lectures on “Development of modern tectonic and geodynamic models of the earth's crust by means of GIS technologies” and “Kinematic model of zone between Greater Caucasus collision zone and Central Caspian Sea seismic zone (based on geophysics and space geodesy data).
Later, some staff problems were discussed.
