On November 23, the new director of the Central Scientific Library (CSL) of ANAS, doctor of philosophical sciences, professor Mammad Aliyev was introduced to the staff.

Opening the event, Academician-Secretary of ANAS, corresponding member Aminaga Sadigov said that the CSL has become one of the largest library and information institutions of the country for more than 95 years and played an invaluable role in the development of Azerbaijani science and training of scientific personnel.

He noted that the Central Scientific Library, which has undergone a major development over the past years, has always received the attention of the country's leadership, a new office building was built and put into operation, and as a result, all conditions were created for effective operation in accordance with international standards.

Afterwards, the new director of the CSL, Professor Mammad Aliyev greeted the staff and thanked the President of ANAS, Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev for his appointment. He noted that the Central Scientific Library, equipped with modern equipment, has a rich fund of scientific publications of national and world importance.

M.Aliyev also congratulated the team on the great victory in the Second Karabakh War, written in golden letters in the history of Azerbaijan. He noted that the library staff will continue to unite closely around the purposeful, wise diplomatic policy of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.

At the end of the event, speaking on behalf of the staff, Khuraman Ismayilova, Deputy Director for Library Services of the CSL, wished success to the newly appointed director.

It should be noted that Professor Mammad Aliyev was appointed the new director of the CSL at the meeting of the Presidium of ANAS on November 20.
