Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

The State Committee for Family, Women and Children's Affairs launched a new twinning project in September last year with the financial support of the European Union and in partnership with the relevant agencies from Lithuania and Austria.

An online discussion was held with the participation of Lithuanian experts of the project to study the current situation in this area. Discussions revolved around gaps and possible amendments to the Criminal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure to prevent the criminalization of domestic violence.

The Azerbaijani side was represented by representatives of AQUPDK, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, BSU and ANAS in the online twinning discussions. The event was also attended by Deputy Chairman of the Women Council of ANAS, gender coordinator of ANAS Mahrukh Najafli.
