“Occupied monuments – in the footsteps of historical data” conference held

AR State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations and ANAS Institute of Human Rights hosted for “Occupied monuments – in the footsteps of historical data” conference in the “Dan ulduzu” hall of Park Inn hotel, February 18.

Conference attended by MPs, representatives of particular governmental organizations, social figures and mass media was opened by Chairman of State Committee for religious institutions, PhD in history Mubariz Gurbanli who noted the relevance of the theme of conference, stressed the importance of such events for the disclosure of the Armenian falsifications.

Key goal of the conference is informing the society on the current issue and carrying out the scientific discussions on the religious monuments which are in the historical territories of Azerbaijan appropriated by the Armenian aggressors: “Armenians committed cruel crimes in the seized territories, and also genocides in Khojaly, M. Gurbanli noted.

Then director of ANAS Institute of Human Rights, PhD in Law Ayten Mustafayeva noted the need for registration of cultural, historical and religious monuments in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and to present to the International tribunal the calculation of the material damage caused to our country as a result of capture.

A. Mustafayeva told about history and current state of tolerance in our country and noted that Azerbaijan is considered one of the most advanced countries in the world where representatives of different religions live in conditions of friendship and brotherhood.

During the event presentations were made by the deputy director of religious expertise on public issues and analytical analysis of State Committee for religious institutions Aliheydar Zulfugarov on “Armenian aggression and religious monuments”, chairman of Public Association on “Organization for the Protection of historical and cultural monuments in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan”, Faiq Ismailov on “Historical reasons the destruction of monumental, cultural and religious monuments in Nagorno-Garabakh by Armenians”.

In conclusion memorandum of cooperation was signed between the State Committee for Religious Institutions and ANAS Institute of Human Rights.
