Electron hall of the Institute of Literature held scientific session on the outputs of archaeological and ethnographic researchers in Azerbaijan for 2014.   

Vice-president of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature acad. Isa Habibbayli spoke about the importance of event and wished successes to its work.

Director of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, prof. Maisa Rahimova reported on done fulfillments of last year in the scientific venture led by her. She stated that, by governmental care and attention to archaeology and ethnography sciences in latest years benefited for elucidating numerous dark pages of our history so far.  President Ilham Aliyev closely got acquainted with archaeological and excavation works while in visit to Gabala region, highly estimated the activity of the institute and set new duties before. In this regard, institute continued scientific research works in last year.  Large-scale archaeological excavations were carried out in Absheron, Salyan, Gabala, Guba, Shabran, Shaki, Agdam, Fizuli, Djalilabad, Baku, Aksu, Ganja, Goranboy, Tovuz, Agstafa, Shamkir, Sherur, Babak, Ordubad, Barda, Lerik, Ismayilly regions, and ethnographic expeditions were organized to Gedebey Barda, Guba-Khinalig, Ismayilli-Gabala, Lankaran-Astara regions.  M.Rahimova noted that, Institute of Archeology and Ethnography was represented in Baku Science Festival held in November in ANAS last year. Latest material-cultural patterns discovered in the territory of Azerbaijan were exhibited and ethnographic nook was created. Institute employees attended the international expeditions in last year joint with scientists of Japan, France, Republic of Korea and U.S.  Chief departments of the institute – acad. Teymur Bunyadiv and corresponding member of ANAS Ilyas Babayev assessed research works of the last year.

Event was continued over “Archaeology” and “Ethnography” sections.  More than 50 lectures were delivered by scientists, discussions were held.
