Deputy Head of Mission of Embassy of the United Arab Emirates to Azerbaijan visited ANAS CSL

Deputy Head of Mission of Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Azerbaijan visited ANAS Central Scientific Library (CSL).

In advance, guests got acquainted with exhibition, reading halls, scientific and historical editions stored in Rare and Eastern books foundations of CSL.

In a meeting director of the CSL, Dr. Medical sciences Leyla Imanova provided information on the activity directions of the scientific venture led by her. Library aims setting up modern open library-information system and integrating Azerbaijan to the world data space through this system, she stated.

Organization of exchange of world academic patterns between UAE library foundations and CSL, obtaining the data about Azerbaijan for “National Digital Memory” etc were discussed in the meeting. L. Imanova appealed for embassy to assist as a mediator in signing memorandum of regulating ties among ventures including library and archive system of UAE.

Deputy of CSL director for academic affairs Ruzi Mammadov informed about the rare 12.500 Arabic books stored in the library. Digitalizing and sending them to UAE libraries were touched upon. In the meeting put forward proposals on organizing the nooks of Arab history, culture and science joint with embassy, exchange of mutual experience, carrying out joint cultural events and vital issues to be included into future cooperation memorandum.

Expressing his satisfaction of the event Abdulla Yasim Al-Shamsi highly appreciated interior, design with modern equipment and devices and expressed confidence that the friendly relations will continue to flourish in the future.

Finally, guest donated the books reflecting history, science and culture of his country and developed as a result of UAE research centers’ studies for 40 years.
