Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS Institute of Physics held workshop on “Density functional theory of energy materials” on March 5. Nurbosun Janpesiov, Professor of Tohoku University of Japan, delivered a lecture on the current topic.

Event was attended by professor of Donostia International Physics Center Evgeny Chulkov, academician-secretary of ANAS Department of Chemical Sciences, director of the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry, acad. Dilgam Taghiyev and deputy director of the institute corresponding member Muhammad Babanli.

Opening the event director of the institute, corresponding member Nazim Mammadov informed about lecturer and said that, originated from Kazakhstan N. Janpesiov is the celebrate scientist in the field of quantum chemistry. Worked in the leading universities of the Japan since 1999 and authored for more than 100 scientific works.

Later on, N. Janpesiov provided information about the university where he works. Totally 3 departments (chemistry, mathematics and physics) were functioned in the Tohoku university that established in 1907. Currently, students of variety parts of the world study in the university, he stated.

Exchange of view was held and questions responded.

Then, workshop continued by acad. Dilgam Taghiyev’s speech. He supposed for obtaining agreement among Donostia International Physics Center, Physics, Catalysis and Inorganic Institutes on future organizing joint multi disciplinary activity of physics, chemists and theorists.

The guests got acquainted with Innovation sector of the institute and were informed on the modern devices equipped here and done fulfillments.
