Institute of Genetic Resources of ANAS held republican seminar on the conservation and sustainable use of genetic resources of domestic breeds in Azerbaijan by joint organization of the Ministry of Agriculture of AR.

At the seminar, director of the institute, corresponding member of ANAS Zeynal Akbarov spoke about the importance of conservation of animal genetic resources, domestic breeds of farm animals and the need to strengthen the coordination of work in this area.

Then PhD in biology Ayaz Mammadov made a presentation on the genetic resources of domestic breeds.

Workshop participants discussed the draft of National Strategy for the Conservation and Sustainable Use of domestic breeds, prepared by the specialists of the Institute and the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan.

In conclusion, were put forward suggestions and recommendations.
