International scientific symposium "Azerbaijan - Turkey: seven ancient bards” kicked off

On May 7, at the main building of ANAS was held the international scientific symposium "Azerbaijan - Turkey: seven ancient bards”.

The event was jointly organized by ANAS Institute of Literature and Folklore, Cultural section Haji Bektash Veli (Turkey) and Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination.

At the symposium, along with scientists of Azerbaijan also were attended prominent scientific and cultural figures of Iran, Dagestan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Turkey.

First, the event participants familiarized with the exhibition of books published by ANAS Institute of Literature, Folklore and Cultural section Haci Bektas.

The symposium was opened by the vice-president of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbeyli.

Academician I.Habibbeyli noted that Imadeddin Nasimi, Shah Ismail Khatai, Fuzuli, Amini, Virani, Pir Sultan Abdal and Gul Himmet accepted and recognized in Anatolia as the "Seven ancient bards”.

Vice-President of ANAS, stressed that the purpose of the symposium is to ensure the conducting of studies in both countries related to the work of these word masters, collecting and evaluating information on ashug creativity.

It was reported that, within the framework the international event dedicated to the general literary history, culture, problems of its development, as well as a prominent literary figure, will be presented to the world community the results of studies on the "Seven ancient bards."

Then Director of the Institute of Folklore, corresponding member Mukhtar Imanov, who reported that the joint discussions that will take place in the framework of international action for the development of relations between the two countries in the field of culture and literature, and wished success to the symposium.

At the event were acted the head of the Haji BektashCultural section Veli Mustafa Ozdzhivan, counselor of the Embassy of Turkey in Azerbaijan Meral Barlas, director of the Institute of Oriental Studies, corresponding member of ANAS Govhar Bakhshaliyeva who noted that the symposium will have a positive impact on the further development of relations.

During the two-day event the reports will be delivered on "Nasimi’s word: beyond time and space", "Irfan’s terms in Fizuli’s divan in Persian", "Seven ancient - cultural bridge between Azerbaijan and Anatolia", "Artistic image of Nasimi in Azerbaijan poetry of the XX century" etc.
