Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

ANAS Institute of Economy held meeting of academician-secretary of ANAS Department of Social Science, corresponding member of ANAS Nargis Akhundova  and a group of experts of this scientific venture.

Meeting was attended by corresponding members of ANAS Akif Musayev, Shahin Mustafayev and director of the Institute of Strategic Studies of the Caucasus Eldar Ismayilov.

Director of the institute, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli (Imanov) gave detailed information about government intervention in the economy and the socio-economic development on the basis of a new methodology for the assessment of the effects of the economy “Rightism index of economy”.   

He noted that, by using this indexa group of experts has classified rightism-leftism degree of the economy of 37 countries.

As opposed other studies in the field of inter-country comparisons, the index makes opportunity to define whether economic policy should be given priority but not preference of one country to another ("good" or "bad").

Members of Expert Group: PhDs in economics Allahyar Muradov, Rasmiyya Abdullayeva, Emin Mammadzadeh, Fergana Musayeva, Rufat Efendiyev and PhD in philosophy Mayis Gulaliyev informed about the essence of the idea and new outlooks of theoretical and applied research for economy.

At the meeting corresponding member Nargis Akhundova positively appreciated the idea and said she will assist the institute in this direction.

In closing, prof. Nazim Muzaffarli’s “Sociality of economy in right-left wing systems” book donated to the guests.
