Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Chief of Tektonophysics and geomechanics department of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics acad. Hatam Guliyev attended the XIV international conference titled as “Geoinformatics: Theoretical and practical aspects” held in Kiev National University on behalf of T. Shevchenko. In the four day event organized by All Ukrainian Association of Geoinformatics and Geological Engineering Associations in Europe was listened scientist’s lecture on “Study of non-linear physical-mechanical properties of sedimentary rocks on geophysical data”.

At the end of the conference was decided to publish the paper on "Geoinformatics" journal.

During the visit H.Guliyev met with scientists of the Institute of Geophysics of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Institute of Geophysics, Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Kiev State University.

Informed about the results of studies conducted at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics in the processing and interpretation of geological and geophysical data, the scientist reported on the preparation of the theoretical foundations of a new scientific approach in this area.

In order to achieve concrete results and create computer algorithms based on them were elaborated modern complex computer programs.

Then Ukrainian and Russian scientists gave information on the last achievements in the field of the theory of distribution of elastic waves in difficult geological environments.

During the meetings were discussed possibilities of cooperation in their respective fields.
