ANAS National Museum of Azerbaijani Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi held republican conference "The struggle for independence and national values" dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Azerbaijan national poet, literary critic and public figure, academician Bakhtiar Vahabzadeh by organization of the Council of Young Scientists and specialists of the same scientific institutions on June 4.

First, in the foyer of the museum was demonstrated exhibition devoted to the life and activity of a prominent writer.

Opening the event the museum's director, academician Rafael Huseynov spoke about B.Vahabzadeh’s rich literary creativity, which is one of the most prominent representatives of Azerbaijani literature.

It was noted that, the creativity of this writer played a major role in strengthening of civic spirit in the national poetry and enrichment of the literary-social thought in the ideas of independence.

Speaking about necessity of studying of the famous writer Bakhtiar Vahabzadeh, Huseynov said that, as long there will be the Azerbaijan philosophy - always will be live the brilliant poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh, which became an integral part of this philosophy.

The museum's director noted that the conference materials will be published as a book form for submission to scientific institutions to further study of the poet.

The next speaker was the vice-president of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli, who noted that the national poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh’s artistic creativity, socio-political, scientific and educational activities that made a great contribution to the awakening of national consciousness, the formation of the national ideology. He stressed that the name of the independence poet is honored with great respect, not only in Azerbaijan but also throughout the Turkic world.

It was noted that, celebration of 90th anniversary of the national poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh who made a valuable contribution to national literary thought, according to the Order of the President of the country Ilham Aliyev dated January 14, 2015, is a striking example of an appreciation of creativity of this literary and public figure.

Then the lecture were delivered by Professor Tahira Mammad on "The attitude of the Azerbaijani literature and literary criticism to Ataturk", PhD in philology Tarana Rahimli "The concept of human and literary criticism in Azerbaijan's prose in 1960-70s", PhD in philology Nazmiyya Yigitoglu "Genre demands of modern dramatic environment. Tragicomedy".

The event will continue its work in sections: "B.Vahabzadeh and theme of patriotism in Azerbaijan literature", "B.Vahabzadeh and historicity in Azerbaijan dramaturgy," "The concept of human and artistic character", "Past and present literary relations of the Turkic world."
