Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Meeting was held at ANAS Institute of Information Technology with Chancellor of ADA University, prof. Hafiz Pashayev, Vice-chancellor for Innovation and technologies, founding dean of the School of Engineering and Information Technologies, prof. Kah Muhammadou and a group of delegates.

In advance, the guests got acquainted with AzScienceNet computer network. According to academician-secretary of ANAS acad. Rasim Alguliyev, this network provides research institutes and organizations via advanced network services necessary for implementation of scientific, practical and educational issues. The key goal is to use world-class technologies and services in the country by integrating Azerbaijan science and education into the European scientific and educational environment, and make opportunity for more effectively functioning of researches in this scope. The main task of the AzScienceNet is to provide high-speed, secure access to global Internet network. In addition, the network serves numerous Internet services for users, including plays the role of experimental base for relevant research works and staff training in the field of network technologies. 

Then the guests got acquainted with the Center for Educational Innovation. Guests were informed on the lessons carried out here, and activities of the Center for Distance Education, as well as were familiar with print technologies at the publishing house of Information technologies which operates under Multimedia Center of Information Technologies. Provided information about e-library facilities, and institute’s scientific journals dubbed "Information Technology" and "Information Society".

Later were discussed main goals of the reforms in the field of science and education in the country with the guests at the round table. Noted that, combination of science and education, the development of these areas is the demand for innovative modern style. In the meeting was touched upon development of international cooperation, application of scientific and educational achievements obtained as a result of integration in the production, and transfer of scientific innovations in the education scope. Stressed the need for staff training the in the field of information technology, computer science, and computer engineering. Also, the importance of strengthening relations with Azerbaijani scientists and specialists living in different countries of the world was highlighted.
