Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

By organization of the Department of Public Relations and Science Popularization of ANAS Presidium Administration was opened “Science Activity-2015” summer school at Shamakha Astrophysical Observatory of ANAS on behalf Nasiraddin Tusi, July 10.

Two day of summer school devoted to 70th anniversary of ANAS and 140th anniversary of National Press Day was attended by media organs. Event organized under slogan of “Social policy and promotion campaign of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences-2015” project, aimed at increasing efficiency in science and activity promotion of ANAS and encouraging newsmakers for collaboration via ANAS.

In the event, chief of the Division of Public Relations of DPRSP Baba Aliyev stated that, rapidly development of ANAS and Azerbaijan science is highly meet by civilians. The reforms carried out at the Academy pave the way for socio-economic development of this organization, as well as elevation of scientists’ academic performances.

Later on, acting director of Shamakha Astrophysical Observatory corresponding member of ANAS Namig Jalilov stressed out the close ties between newsmakers, academy and scientists. Speaking about the sixty-year history of the observatory, N.Jalilov highlighted the great importance of staff training in achievements of the organization.

Board member of ANAS Young Scientists and Specialists Council PhD in physics Fakhranda Alimardanova delivered a lecture “Role of the media in science promotion”. Scientist provided information on the objectives, activity of the council, done works and reforms carried out by directory of the Academy.

At the conclusion of the first day of summer school newsmakers observed celestial bodies.

On the second day of the event, expert for new media Ellada Mustafayeva made a presentation on “Social Media-Integration of traditional media to the online media”. In addition to blogs, chat and forums sponsored by companies, cross customer e-mails, site and forums related on consumer product or service ratings, internet discussion boards and forums, and micro blogs, social media combines various online forums and oral blogs. Also enables people to share information and experiences in online societies, she noted.

Moreover E.Mustafayeva said that, social media has the characteristics of openness, sociality, dialogue, development of relations, various sounds, and transmission of the message to the parties. Social media aims to create online presence, conduct research, make people aware of the issue, engage in dialogue with customers, build new online partnerships, establish a relationship with domestic and international audiences, maintain oversight on communication and protect crisis reputation in cases of crisis, she added.

Exchanged views on the subject, and questions were responded.

Then, head of DPRSP Zulfugar Farzaliyev made speech and wished successes to media representatives in future endeavors.

In closing, newsmakers attending the summer school were given certificates.
