Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

By the decision of the Presidium of ANAS, “Science temple of Azerbaijan” documentary is shot on the occasion of 70th anniversary of ANAS. Scientific advisor of the film which to be portrayed historical traditions and modern development of an academy, is president of ANAS Academician Akif Alizadeh.

According to manager of film casting and scenario, Vice-President of ANAS Academician Isa Habibbayli, shootings are under completion. General Director of the film shot by “Salname” studio is a celebrate filmmaker Ayaz Salayev, operator - Yuri Varnovski who graduated from the Moscow State Institute of Cinematography.

Creative group carried out shootings in most of research institutes of ANAS and interviewed. In addition, rare materials have been obtained from the Photo and Film Archive Documents. Meanwhile, president of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, Academician Paton, director of the Institute of World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician Alexander Kudelin were interviewed related to the development of science in Azerbaijan and Academy of Sciences.

Recently, Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbayli and crew members met with Vice-president of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Nobel Prize laureate, emeritus member of ANAS, Academician Zhores Ivanovich Alferov in St.Petersburg due to get an interview for the film casting. The head of the St. Petersburg Scientific Center, Academician Zh.Alferov appraised preservation of Academy of Sciences in Azerbaijan under difficult conditions and reforms carried out in the field of science.

Nobel Prize winner stated sense of gratitude to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for high appreciation of his scientific activity at the state level.

Academician Zhores Alferov spoke about long-term scientific relations with Azerbaijan, colleagues, deep roots and traditions of mutual relations, as well as the modernization processes in the system of the Academy of Sciences.

During the meeting was stressed the need to develop cooperation with St. Petersburg Scientific Center and its institutions.

Academic Zh.Alferov welcomed the invitation to participate in the 70th anniversary of ANAS.

In a meeting, Nobel Prize winner was donated memorable gift of ANAS.

In next months, mounting of videotapes obtained for “Science temple of Azerbaijan” documentary will be carried out.
